1. General regulations
1.1. This Regulation defines the procedure for conducting, evaluation criteria and summing up the results of the festival, SAXOTONE competition, held from March 29 to April 4, 2022.

3. Participants of the Competition
3.1. Everyone whose age corresponds to the age groups can become participants of the competition (paragraph 5.3).
4. Terms of participation in the Competition
4.1. To participate in the Competition, you must do the following before February 15, 2022:
  • Fill out the application form on the official website of the Competition, attaching a copy of the birth certificate (passport with registration) of the participant, as well as a receipt for payment of the registration fee.
  • The paid participant fee is non-refundable. Exception: The entrance fee is refundable only in case of complete cancellation of the competition. (paragraph 6.6.)
  • According to paragraph 6.7., when the limit of participants is reached, the Organizers have the right to suspend the acceptance of applications ahead of time.

5. Competition procedure
The competition is held in three nominations: "Saxophone", "Clarinet", "Ensemble".

The competition will be held from March 29 to April 4. The exact schedule of the competition will be provided after all applications are processed.

Participants of the Competition are given time for acoustic rehearsal on the competition site for no more than 5 minutes according to the previously agreed schedule.

The exact rules of the Competition will be brought to the attention of the participants after processing all received applications, no later than March 1, 2022. The participants arrive at the competition with their concertmaster. The Organizing Committee of the competition can provide an accompanist on a paid basis upon prior request from the participant.

To carry out the preparatory work and monitor compliance with this Regulation, an organizing committee is formed, which includes the founders and members of the jury.

The Organizing Committee reserves the right not to consider an application submitted in a form that does not comply with Annex 1 to this Regulation and / or in violation of the deadline specified in the Regulation.

5.2. Nominations:
  • "Saxophone"
  • "Clarinet"
  • "Ensemble"

5.3. Age groups:

''Saxophone", "Clarinet":
  • Junior group A — up to and including 9 years of age;
  • Junior group B — from 10 to 13 years inclusive;
  • Middle group — from 14 to 17 years inclusive;
  • Senior group – from 18 to 29 years inclusive;
  • No age restrictions. The following ensembles are allowed: saxophonist ensemble, clarinetist ensemble, classical wind ensemble, classical woodwind ensemble.

The age of the participants is determined on the first day of the contest — March 29, 2022.

5.4. Order of performances:
  • The order of performance of participants is determined by age categories.
  • Auditions are held in public.
The order of performance of pieces in the competition program is determined by the participant and indicated in the application.

5.5. Program requirements

The Organizing Committee provides the necessary musical material for the mandatory piece of the senior group.

Time limits of the competition program:

First round
"Saxophone", "Clarinet"
  • Junior group A — no more than 10 minutes.
  • Junior group B — no more than 10 minutes.
  • The Middle group — no more than 15 minutes.
  • Senior group — no more than 30 minutes.
No more than 20 minutes.

Second round
"Saxophone", "Clarinet"
  • Junior group A — no more than 15 minutes.
  • Junior group B — no more than 15 minutes.
  • The Middle group — no more than 20 minutes.
  • Senior group — no more than 30 minutes.
5.6. Evaluation criteria for competitive auditions
  • quality and culture of performance;
  • technical complexity of the program;
  • expressiveness of performance;
  • individual of performance;
  • artistry;
  • the originality of the program;
  • compliance of the content of the performed piece with the age of the performer.
The organizers of the competition place the total scores of the participants. The scores from the records of the jury members are not published or disclosed.

5.7. Jury of the Competition

The jury evaluates the performances of the competition participants in each category and age group separately. The voting of the jury members takes place at the end of the performance of all the participants. The results are recorded in the evaluation sheets.

The Jury has the right to:
  • award the Grand Prix, the titles of the laureate;
  • not all awards and diplomas should be awarded;
  • award diplomas to the best concertmasters and teachers;
  • establish additional special, incentive prizes and diplomas.
  • stop the performer if he has exceeded the time limit.
  • refuse to listen to a participant whose program does not correspond to the program specified in the application for participation in the competition.
  • the competition jury reserves the right not to comment on the results.
The members of the jury must:
  • submit their scores in an individual evaluation sheet;
  • sign individual and final evaluation sheet;
The performances of the participants are evaluated according to the 100-point system.

Tour scores are not added together.

In order to avoid a conflict of interest, the jury members do not award points to the competition participants representing the educational institutions where the jury members are currently employees. As well as having any family ties with the participants.

In the case of an equal number of points in the summing up of the results, the exclusive right to vote belongs to the head of the jury.

The decision of the jury is final and not subject to revision, if it does not contradict the Regulations.
6. Other
6.1. The results will be published on the competition website saxotone.ru

6.2 The order of the participants' performances is set in alphabetical order.

6.3 The winners of the competition, who took I, II and III prices, are awarded the title of "Laureate" with the presentation of a valuable gift; the participants, who took IV price, are awarded the title of "Diploma Holder".

6.4. The rules of the competition include concerts and master classes of the jury members and leading performers, exhibitions, presentations.

6.5 The Organizing Committee is the holder of the ownership right to broadcast concerts and competitive auditions on radio and television, to distribute printed materials of the competition, audio and video recordings of performances of participants of the competition, concerts and master classes, and to post information on social networks.

6.6. In the event of an Emergency, High-alert, quarantine, and / or other restrictions imposed by the authorities, the Organizers of the competition choose at their discretion: either the transfer of the Competition dates, or the transfer to the online format, or the cancellation of the Competition. In case of cancellation of the competition, all participants ' entrance fees will be refunded.

6.7. Due to the time limit of the competition, the Organizers of the Competition may suspend the acceptance of applications when the limit of participants is reached.

6.8. Until the deadline for accepting applications, the Organizers may make changes to the Competition Regulations. The Organizers are obliged to inform the participants about any changes in the Regulations by e-mail. Participants themselves take the responsibility to subscribe to the mailing list on the website www.saxotone.ru and follow the information.

6.9. In case of misreading between the text of the Regulation and its translations into foreign languages, the main text is considered to be the present Regulation in Russian.
7. Awarding of winners
The jury determines the winners of the Competition based on the results of the discussion of the competition auditions and subsequent voting.

The decision of the jury is recorded in the protocol and is not subject to revision.

The award ceremony will take place at the Final ceremony of the Competition.

8. Financial terms of the Competition
8.1. For the participants of the competition in the nominations "Saxophone" and "Clarinet", an organizational fee of 3,000 rubles is provided. The participants of the "Ensemble" nomination pay a fee of 5,000 rubles for the team.

8.2. Expenses related to travel, food, stay at the Competition, accommodation of the participants of the Competition are taken over by the sending organizations or the participants themselves. Foreign participants of the competition independently prepare documents for entry into the territory of the Russian Federation.
